Horwich and Blackrod Cluster Primary Schools Take Part in Cross-Country Event at RBHS

Tuesday, 28th May 2024

Rivington and Blackrod High School recently hosted the Horwich and Blackrod cluster primary schools' cross-country event, where eight primary schools came together to compete alongside our RBHS student leaders. They followed a route from the bottom of the Rivington and Blackrod High School playing fields into the paths through Lever Park.

Taking part in the event were students from Years 3 to 6 from the Horwich and Blackrod cluster primary schools, who competed with RBHS leaders from Years 7 to 9. These leaders were chosen from the RBHS run club to marshal the event.

Miss L Jordan, Head of PE at RBHS, commented, "It was an absolute pleasure to host the primary cross-country races here in our beautiful setting again. We're used to cross-country events being a lot muddier, but the sun was out and helped everyone have a great time. The primary pupils did a superb job representing their schools, and there are so many runners we'll be wanting for our teams when they join us in the coming years! Once again, our young leaders were fantastic, marshalling the pupils and cheering them along the way. A big thank you to everyone who came."

Among the schools participating were Beacon Primary School, Blackrod Church Primary School, Blackrod Primary School, Claypool Primary School, Chorley New Road, Horwich Parish CE Primary School, St Mary's CE Primary School, and St Catherine's CE Primary School.

Well done!
